"SUMITRA" UV
Water Purifier is based on the germicidal
properties of Ultra Violet rays which was one of the
earliest recognised methods of Disinfection. However
its use was discontinued around the turn of this century
because of the advent of chlorination and on ozonisation
of potable water. Recently, there has renewed interest
in UV due to its various advantages as better alternative
to Chemical Treatment, largely as a result of concern
over TOXIC Chemical by-products.
The "SUMITRA" UV
Water Purifier is designed suitable
to use the germicidal properties of UV light to kill
waterborne pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and
molds present in the water by inactivating the DNA
and thus their ability to reproduce. It consists of
a chamber with UV Lamp which is sealed to protect
it from direct contact with water stream which is
passing through it.
